hi guys i replaced the hose clip to a jubilee clip as it looked knackered and the hose was very wet, can you tell me is there anywhere around that area the oil can leak out from i have washed it all down and it looks better, i will give it a week now and see if it gets oily again, i must apoligise to a user that told me if i took off this pipe that nothing would come out spot on thanks , this is different set up to my other gal i had , i was told to replace the clip and clean all around the area where the oil was sitting which was around the hose where it sits to the intercooler fingers crossed eh thanks smoggy

unless your losing/using a lot? dont worry too much about it! oil mist that makes it's way past the turbo will gather at the lowest point or point of highest resistance! in this case the intercooler! unless it's running out by the litre? it's ok :(

no apology needed smoggy, you did worry me slightly though, when you stated it was definitely the intercooler and you had antifreeze leaking out of it :(

You will always have an amount of oil mist in the induction system on a turbocharged engine. It is not uncommon to have an amount of 'sweating' at the joints of pipes due to the pressures generated by the turbo. If the leak is sufficient enough to generate drips over a short period, this should be rectified as the system is not as air-tight as it should be. The clip on the affected hose should be replaced, as you have done. The leak from the end cover of your intercooler would indicate a deteriorating seal or weaken clips which as you can see are part of the core of your cooler. You can try tensioning these back up a bit to improve the situation or take it to a radiator specialist who will do it for you, otherwise a new intercooler will be required (a little drastic IMO). I would monitor it for now, as you have said.

EGR valve, crankcase breather and (less likely) turbo. Intercooler is probably

full of oily gunge by now and could do with cleaning as well.

hi guys, i have kept a close eye on the leak and have found that after replacing the clip to a jubilee it has not leaked at all very dry and clean, so it must have been that stupid other clip that they use not correctly holding the hose in place and under pressure must have leaked out but at the moment none so i am alittle releaved thanks to all smoggy
